In this work I draw on my experiences at the intersection of mental health and the natural world in the contexts of education, camp and outdoor adventure. I can assist with program and policy design, staff training, capacity building and anything else that you need to support the mental health of those you work with and those who work for you.
Responding to emotion and dysregulation in a way that is supportive and effective can be challenging, and training centred on Emotion Coaching can take some of the guesswork out. Based on the neuroscience of emotion and an attachment lens, this 1 hour to half-day workshop (from EFFT) provides practical tools to respond to big feelings in people of all ages, and get back to cooperation, collaboration and fun!
ASIST is the world's leading suicide intervention skills training program. It is delivered over a 2-day interactive in-person workshop designed to train participants to recognize when someone may be thinking about suicide, how to provide a skilled intervention and develop a safety plan with that person. Suicide is an issue that touches every aspect of our lives, and organizations bringing people outside are no different. What can be different is the context of helping in a residential or wilderness setting. This is why taking ASIST with me and a co-facilitator can make it more applicable, relevant and useful for you and your organization.
